ADAMS PEARMAIN APPLE

Adams Pearmain is an attractive looking apple with a fresh faced, rustic appeal with its classic rosy red, green skin and crisp flesh, the sweet nutty taste of this Victorian apple goes extremely well with a cheeseboard. Some confusion over its origin with some authorities claiming Robert Adams purchased a tree from Norfolk around 1826 and referred to it as the Norfolk Pippin whilst others suggest it was of Herefordshire origin and known as Hanging Pearmain either way the tree is virtually identical produces good crops in most years. It keeps well right up to March which was another reason for its popularity in times past.

Our Adams Pearmain bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.

Available in economy and premium selection

Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
