CRAWLEY BEAUTY APPLE
Crawley Beauty is an old favourite dual purpose apple, found in a cottage garden in Sussex around 1870. Crawley Beauty has the benefit of being a cooker early in the season which cooks to a light frothy puree and as the season moves on sweetens to make a good eater from Christmas onwards, with crisp flesh and plenty of juice. Keeps well up to end of February.
Makes a medium to large slight flattened fruit with an orange red flush with red stripes over a greeny yellow background. Good disease resistance and tolerates a wide range of soil types. Being late into leaf and flower makes Crawley Beauty a good choice for northern, colder districts or frost pockets.
Our Apple Crawley Beauty bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
Available in economy and premium selection
Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
