DEVONSHIRE QUARRENDEN APPLE
Devonshire Quarrenden is one of the delights of the early harvest apple, straight from the tree it has a distinct strawberry like sweet flavour. A very old apple of unknown origin from about 1685. Attractive deep red skin, flesh nicely crisp infused with pink red tones. Has been used as the parent for a number of other apple varieties with Worcester Pearmain being one of the best known.
Our Apple Devonshire Quarrenden bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
Available in economy and premium selection
Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
