ELLISONS ORANGE APPLE

Ellisons Orange is a classic tasting English apple, producing a good medium sized, golden-yellow dessert apple with attractive crimson stripes. Has a strong influence of taste characteristic from one of its parents Cox’s Orange Pippin with crisp and tender juicy flesh but with a unique spicy anise flavour. Easier to grow, with less of the health problems of Cox Orange Pippin. Raised by the Rev. Ellison in Lincolnshire C.1904

Our Ellisons Orange bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.

Available in economy and premium selection

Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
