PLUM BELLE DE LOUVAIN
Plum Belle de Louvain is a very old variety which has very large red/purple bloomy fruits with a bright yellow flesh. Its primary use is as a culinary plum as the flesh is not that juicy, however do not be fooled by this as when this plum is cooked the true flavour comes out. Plum Belle de Louvain also makes excellent jam.
Plum Belle de Louvain is highly recommended for exposed sites where you should get a prolific crop of plums from these trees.
Our Plum Belle de Louvain bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the plum trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown plum trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
Available in economy and premium selection
Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
