QUERCUS MICHAUXII

Rarely offered for sale in the UK, this Oak is known as the Swamp Chestnut Oak as it is native to the wetlands of the southern and central United States. A must for any collector of oaks, making a fine round headed tree of small to medium size with bright green leaves followed by good yellow autumnal colouring.

Another even less flattering common name for Quercus michauxii is the Cow Oak which refers to the fact that the large acorns it produces are fed to cattle in its native land. Needs planting with care preferably in a sheltered spot in the southern half UK and where it can receive sun and warmth

Available in economy and premium selection

Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
